Leonardo DiCaprio Briefly Lost His Oscar Last Night

Dammit, Leo!

At yesterday’s Academy Awards, Leonardo DiCaprio finally murdered his two-decade long Oscar curse - as if he had been crawling in desperation towards his goal for what seemed like an eternity - winning Best Actor for The Revenant.

His victory was the biggest moment of the ceremony – at least according to Twitter activity – with film fans collectively sighing in relief as that handsome, millionaire underdog scored his first Oscar, from five nominations.

He even used the platform to advocate for climate change action, as he has done for much of his career.

Later in the evening, the Internet was gifted with adorable footage of DiCaprio excitedly getting his accolade inscribed with his name, joking about his previous losses. All in all, it was a great night to be Leonardo DiCaprio (capping 8030 consecutive great nights).

Aaaaaaaand then, he went and lost the thing.

According to TMZ, DiCaprio had such a great evening, he accidentally left his Oscar at the Ago restaurant in West Hollywood, where he was celebrating, you know, winning that exact Oscar.

Video evidence shows he was already in the car, heading home, when someone ran out with his Oscar in tow, eager to return it to its rightful owner.

Whether or not that person was simply one of Leo's appointed Oscar-minders is unknown. But still, you'd think he wouldn't let the prize out of his sight for one second.

Dude… we thought you wanted this?
