Katy Perry Forgave Taylor Swift During Her Intense, Weekend-Long Livestream

Trigger Warning: This article discusses suicide.

Katy Perry, taking the title of her new album a tad too literally, livestreamed her entire weekend via YouTube.

It all took place in an apartment specially fitted with forty-one cameras to catch every moment.

Oh, and as of Monday morning in Australia, it's still happening:

During the first few days of the streamfest, Perry did yoga with Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson; hosted a dinner party with Anna Kendrick, Dita Von Teese, Cleo Wade and Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins; and apologised for her cultural appropriations to #BlackLivesMatter activist DeRay McKesson.

She also got a visit from old friend, Left Shark.

(I, personally, spent the weekend consuming episode after episode of Orange is the New Black, so, you know, we’re all living our best lives here.)

Of course, Witness World Wide—as Perry’s Big Brother-esque show was dubbed—didn’t end there.

She also sat down with Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh, host of Viceland’s The Therapist, to discuss her past drinking problems and even her suicidal thoughts, saying, “I feel ashamed that I would have those thoughts, feel that low and that depressed.”

During this portion of the stream, a minder could be heard “forcefully suggesting she stop the livestream,” News Corp reports. The stream continued.

On Saturday, Perry sat for another interview with Arianna Huffington, who asked if Perry was ready to let go of her grudge against Taylor Swift.

“I am ready to let it go,” the “Swish Swish” singer said.

“I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her. I think it’s actually like, I think it’s time. There are bigger fish to fry, and there are real problems in the world. You know what I’m saying?

“And I love her, and I want the best for her. And I think she’s a fantastic songwriter, and I think that, you know, if we, both her and I, can be representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences, I think the whole world is going to go like, ‘Yeah, well we can do this.’ I don’t know. Like maybe I don’t agree with everything she does and she doesn’t agree with everything I do, but I just really truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion.”

Then, she sang “Let It Go” from Frozen.

(It's unknown if Perry was made aware of the fact that Swift released all her albums to streaming services on Friday, in direct conflict with the release of Witness.)

This all sounds very freeing. It also sounds absolutely exhausting. Hopefully Katy gets some alone OITNB time next weekend.
