Justin Timberlake Facing Possible Jail Time Over A Selfie (Or Just A $US50 Fine, But Still)

Note to self: Tennessee state law says no to photographs (yep, selfies included) in voting booths.
Singer Justin Timberlake must have missed - or ignored - that kinda important memo. He recently snapped a picture of himself voting on Instagram, captioning the selfie: "Get out and VOTE! #exerciseyourrighttovote"
The Guardian reports Timberlake cast his vote in Memphis, Tennessee after flying in from Los Angeles.
Only thing is: Taking photographs and/or videos in voting booths was made illegal back in May 2015. The statewide legislation reads that cellphones can only be used in polling stations for "informational purposes to assist the voter in making election decisions".
Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!! No excuses, my good… https://t.co/4E4l1YV3uh

Good on Timberlake for trying to bring voting back (like he brought sexy back, ha) but that excuse probably won't hold up in a court of law.
Penalties for misuse of phones in polling booths can include a $US50 fine or 30 days in jail. Thankfully, the District Attorney's office has decided not to pursue an investigation.
The 'gram has since been removed, but here's the photo and accompanying spiel:

"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!! No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice! If you don't, then we can't HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #excerciseyourrighttovote"
He hasn't revealed who he's voted for; however, he and his wife, Jessica Biel, recently took part in hosting a Hollywood fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. By the sounds of things, it looks like that's one vote to Clinton.
This article was updated with the news that the DA would not be pursuing an investigation into JT's 'gram.
