“Jurassic World 3” Welcomes Back Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern & Sam Neill

The OG cast has returned.

It’s time to get your dinosaur survival kits ready, because the original Jurassic Park trio will be returning to our screens in Jurassic World 3. Director Colin Trevorrow made the big reveal during a screening of Jurassic World at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood earlier this week.

As reported by Collider, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill, who first appeared in the 1993 blockbuster, will all have "sizable" roles in the upcoming film.

While the actors have separately reprised their roles as Dr. Ian Malcolm (Goldblum), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Dern) and Dr. Alan Grant (Neill) following the original flick, this will be the first time all three will appear in the same film.

Who doesn’t love a reunion?

The trio will join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the film, which is set to be released mid-2021. Trevorrow has written the screenplay alongside Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising), with production starting early next year.

Plot details have been kept tightly under wraps, but considering the end of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom saw dinosaurs being set loose into the world, the film will probably explore the repercussions of that.

In fact, Trevorrow has already started down that path in his recently released short film, Battle at Big Rock. The eight-and-a-half-minute film follows a family of four who encounter dinosaurs at the Big Rock National Park. Things get pretty juicy from there.

It’s likely that Universal is bringing back the OG cast in a nostalgic attempt to freshen up the series. Even though we thought Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was the funnest Jurassic movie since the original Jurassic Park, it only received a rating of 48 per cent on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer.

Either way, Chris Pratt seems reasonably pumped.
