Julian Assange Has Faced A Round Of Questioning Relating To Sexual Assault Allegations

Trigger warning: This article discusses rape and sexual assault.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was questioned by Swedish prosecutors at the Ecuadorian embassy in London about a rape allegation dating back to 2010.

According to the ABC, Ingrid Isgren, Swedish Chief Prosecutor, spent roughly four hours in the embassy interviewing Assange.

Assange's lawyer Per Samuelsson announced that questioning is expected to last several days.

"Objectively, there is no doubt that everything happened as Assange said it did," she told Sweden's TT news agency.

Throughout the investigation, Assange has insisted the sexual encounter was consensual in nature.

He has denied the claims, saying that the investigation is politically motivated.

After releasing a flood of secret US diplomatic cables, Assange fled to the Ecuadorian embassy where he has now been holed up for four years.
