Japan Wins Again: Check Out Their Blackboard Art Contest For Students

Here's one cure for student board-dom. (Pun!)

A trend has swept through Japan in recent years, where students create art on their schools' chalkboards between classes.

Chalkboard manufacturer Nichigaku, identifying a perfect promotional opportunity, recently capitalised on the pastime by hosting a chalkboard art contest, receiving 50 submissions from 249 students.

The first place winner received a 100,000 yen gift card, amounting to approximately AUD$1040. Frankly, that seems a little low when you consider the effort that must have gone into the below submissions.
