James Corden and Other Celebs Are Going Viral for Their Cringeworthy Flash Mob

That’s enough internet for today.

James Corden is well known for his wild shenanigans and weird takes, but nothing could quite prepare the world for the weird Cinderella flash mob he led dressed as a rat with a band of gullible celebrities.

Oh, what a world we live in.

If you’re a bit lost (we don’t blame you), on Saturday, the cast of the upcoming Amazon Prime Original Cinderella movie decided (for reasons we’ll never know) to perform a flash mob in the streets of Los Angeles as a way of promoting the film’s release.

The group included singers like Camila Cabello as Cinderella herself, Idina Menzel as the evil stepmother, actor Billy Porter as Fab G, and James Corden as… uh, a mouse named James.

With the storyline set to be the same ol’ story we’ve heard a million times before, it would be an understatement to say that no one was expecting this kind of event from the cast.

The band of lively celebs took to the streets of LA and gave us all the awful 2014 vibes you thought you had forgotten by performing a flash mob around cars.

I dunno about you but this doesn’t exactly look COVID safe to me, nor safe for my sanity, ‘cos what on earth.

With images and videos of the flash mob being reposted all over social media, the internet has collectively been cringing at how normal it’s making these celebrities look.

It’s easy to often forget that celebrities are actually real and flawed humans just like the rest of us, especially when we only see them on screens or at their most perfect moments, but my lord did this event do some humbling.

Just check out some of the reactions from unsuspecting Twitter users.

Not only is the internet having a feast with this content, but considering it was a marketing stunt, I wonder if it’s actually doing what was intended? They do say any kind of press is good press, right?

If this has piqued your interest in the movie (how?) you can check out the trailer here.

Cinderella is due to release on 3 September 2021.
