It Took Just One Day for Pepsi to Pull Their Kendall Jenner Ad (But the Internet Never Forgets)

Acting faster than a militarised police force quelled by a refreshing carbonated soda, Pepsi has pulled their controversial Kendall Jenner ad.

The commercial, which debuted yesterday to widespread derision (and some pretty hilarious memes), saw Jenner abandon her modelling profession to lead a very polite protest, and ultimately offer some riot police a can of Pepsi, ending all the world’s ills.

So, yeah, everyone involved in the making of the ad was dragged, and by none other than Martin Luther King, Jr.'s daughter, Bernice King.

Today, the ad was taken down from YouTube.

Unfortunately, the internet never forgets.

In a statement, Pepsi said they were “trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding.”

“Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologise,” they added.

“We also apologise for putting Kendall Jenner in this position,” their statement closed.

No apology was made to the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

Kendall, for her part, hasn’t said anything about the controversy, but she did post this last week.

Goals not achieved.
