It Is Our Solemn Duty to Inform You "Ferry McFerryface" Crashed Into a Wharf

Yeah, it’s getting harder and harder to take that name seriously.

Something the NSW Transport Minister didn’t consider when he ‘captain-called’ a new Ferry "Ferry McFerryface"” is how it would sound when it was embroiled in, say, a serious incident.

Now, he is met with headlines saying "Ferry McFerryface Crashes Into Balmain Wharf".

According to the SMH, the ferry collided with the NSW wharf on Wednesday morning, with 60 passengers and crew on board.

Thankfully, no one was injured, and the ferry was later taken to the Balmain Shipyard to have its damage inspected.

Last month it was revealed the ferry would be rechristened after author May Gibbs, following the revelation that Transport Minister Andrew Constance had overruled a public vote to select the name.

When the ferry next takes to the open seas, it will likely be with its new title.

What a way to go.
