We’re All Cringing at The Inspired Unemployed’s Antics at the GQ Awards

Ever made a joke that didn’t quite land?

We’ve all been there. You’ve made a joke which you thought was hilarious…but no one else seems to think so.

Then you’re sitting in complete silence as your whole body cringes.

Now imagine this: you’re at the Australia GQ Men of the Year Awards, and Russell Crowe is presenting a speech whilst accepting an award at the formal sit-down dinner. Suddenly, a scream from the other end of the room goes “Rusty's the goat! Ba ah ah.'' Followed by silence.

Awkward…

What was supposed to be a heartfelt moment turned into a viral one.

The hilarious incident was carried out by the iconic comedians, "The Inspired Unemployed" - an Australian comedy duo made up of best mates Jack Steele and Matt Ford, who are known for their viral skits online.

The show did indeed go on, as Crowe continued to deliver his speech, while the comedy duo’s friend and world-famous tennis champion Dylan Alcott burst into laughter saying, “I want to move tables”.

Since then, the pair have made a TikTok explaining just how badly the joke landed and how this will go on to give him nightmares for the rest of his life.
