IKEA Is Releasing a Cute Streetwear Merch Range and I Need It Now

How do you say “shut up and take my money” in Swedish?
Good news: your fave Swedish furniture shop IKEA has just announced the release of their new merch range in Australia.
That’s right, IKEA are making and selling these cute af hoodies, water bottles, towels, tote bags and key rings covered in the IKEA branding and barcodes.
EFTERTRÄDA, which means ‘successor’ in Swedish, was first launched at an IKEA in Harajuku in 2020. And now we're...

The new streetwear collection is called Eferträda and was originally just released in Japan. Shortly after it was made available in Thailand, Korea and Singapore.
Not only does the new merch feature the classic logo and the iconic BILLY bookcase bar code, but it also boasts the famous white, blue and yellow that we all know the furniture brand for.
Their idea behind this launch is to give customers a “simple, minimalist take on clothes and accessories.”
IKEA reckons that logos in clothing are really in right now, so to jump on board a market that is already booming, they’ve designed their own real merch.
“We’ve seen great excitement and demand for products like the Knorva bucket hat, so we’re very excited to be able to offer a complete and full apparel and accessories line for Australians,” IKEA Australia Business Leader Maria Langford said in a statement.
Considering how well their IKEA bucket hat went down last year, it sure makes sense that they’d release even more clothing for fans.
So, before it comes out on 13 May, you’ll wanna know what’s on offer right?
Starting off with likely the most sought after item: the hoodie. You can pick this bad boi up in S/M or L/XL for just $49.
Next up is the t-shirt in S/M or L/XL for $19.
