How to Watch "The Boys" in Australia (Now That Season 2 Is Here)

The Boys are back in t- you see where this is going.

Sick of superheroes who are only concerned with saving the world and doing good?

Well, open your lockdown-hardened heart to The Boys, Amazon Prime Video’s TV adaptation of the grisly, convention-busting comic series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

The first three episodes of Season 2 drop today (or, depending on when you’re reading this, people of the future: 4 September 2020), and sees the titular Boys (plus the supercharged Kimiko) trying to bring down the murderous, morality-free superpowered psychopaths who collectively go by the name The Seven. The remaining episodes will roll out weekly on Fridays. There will be eight in all in S2.

But wait. Record scratch. You’re probably wondering how they got here?

If you’re unfamiliar with the show, you may want to go back to Season 1, which debuted in 2019 and is also exclusively available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

The series stars Jack Quaid as Hughie, an ordinary guy whose life is upended when the superhero A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) runs, um, through his girlfriend, leaving him holding only her bloodied hands. Hughie is then recruited by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), a foul-mouthed Brit intent on taking down The Seven, to which A Train belongs and is led by the privately deranged but publicly beloved Homelander (Antony Starr). Only problem? Kind-hearted new supe recruit Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and Hughie have sparked up a relationship, putting them both at risk with their respective teams.

Season 2 is already getting better reviews than the first season (98 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes compared to S1’s 84 per cent). Plus, it sees the addition of You’re the Worst’s Aya Cash as a new and extremely chaotic supe, Stormfront. See her in action below. (Coarse language warning.)

We are, it surely doesn’t need to be said, extremely down for all this. If you are too, we’ll remind you that you can now stream both seasons on Amazon Prime Video.

Just get ready for some gore.
