How to Find the Best (and Closest) Food Near You

How to Find the Best (and Closest) Food Near You

All we want to do is reduce the time food spends outside of your mouth.

This post is sponsored by Westpac.

You’ve been so patient throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and patience deserves rewarding: with food.

Though the world isn’t out of the woods yet, Australia is in a fortunate enough position that we’ve seen many of the COVID-19 restrictions cautiously lifted over the past few weeks, and that includes our ability to see friends and enjoy a meal at a (suitably socially-distanced) restaurant, or at least take one away.

Understandably, a bunch of you will want to shake off that cabin fever and enjoy the company of others, as well as some food you didn’t prepare in iso. (Please, no more homemade sourdough.)

However, it’s also important to not travel too far, because a) you want to support your local eateries who've been doing it tough with closures, and b) who wants to get on public transpo right now?

The good news is Westpac have teamed up with Local Dining by Entertainment to help you access savings at heaps of your favourite restaurants within walking or riding distance. That means you can save on dinner near home, as well as lunches and much-needed 3pm brain food close to school or university while helping #savehospo.

And, of course, those dining options include take away too, because some places are going to be booked solid with their limited capacity. Plus, maybe you've just got used to eating all your meals in quarantine! No judgement if it takes you a little while longer to re-enter society again.

Here’s how it works.

1. If you've got a Westpac Choice everyday account, you get access to their exclusive Rewards & Offers Hub via online banking. As part of their hub, you’ll be eligible to redeem local dining offers, available to 18 to 30-year-olds. (Don't stress if you're not a customer, applying online only takes three minutes, then you can get access to these great rewards.)

2. Browse the Rewards & Offers Hub within the Westpac online banking portal and select 'Local Dining by Entertainment'.

3. Hit 'Explore NOW!' and allow access to let them know your location so they can find offers near you.

4. Once you pick an offer, follow the instructions, and show your redemption screen when you're paying!

Who does it include?

Well! That depends on your state, which is why it’s important to use your location to find the businesses near you, but some of the participating restaurants include KFC, Lord of the Fries, Gelatissimo, Wendy’s and a whole heap of others selling burgers, pizzas, fro-yo, falafel, juice, salad and more. Plus, the list will keep growing every week, so make sure you regularly search for newbies. And best of all, the offers reset everyday so you can redeem multiple times.

Their offers will range from up to 25% off and 2 for 1 deals to complimentary upsizes on dine in or takeaway. How good is that?

Now, go eat.

There's nothing like the feeling of getting more. The Westpac Rewards & Offers Hub gives you access to offers from leading local and international brands. The best part: you don't have to do much to access the good stuff. Just keep an eye on your mobile app or online banking for exciting discounts and offers within the Hub. Find out more here! Fees and charges apply. Read the product Terms and Conditions and consider whether the product is right for you.
