The Toughest Job Interview Questions, and How to Answer Them

Let’s prep for that interview 🤝
Job interviews are stressful, and the questions employers ask can be tricky.
We’ve put together some of the more difficult questions that can be asked in Job interviews so you can tackle them with confidence.
“What are your weaknesses?”
Select one of your weaknesses that doesn’t undermine your ability to do the job. Avoid saying things like; I struggle with time management, or I struggle communicating with others. These can be seen as red flags to interviewers.
If you have found one of your weaknesses, a good idea is to back it up with how you are working on improving it. This show commitment and personal growth.
Avoid the cliché’s like “I’m a perfectionist.” Employers want to get to know you
“Why should we hire you?”
This question really puts you in the spotlight, but it’s a great chance for you to sell yourself. Tell your interviewer about your skills and unique qualities that make you a strong fit for the role. Do you have skills in technology, customer service or administration that can be applied to this role? What are some of your values that align with the company’s goals and values?
Where do you see yourself in the future?
While the future can feel far away and you may have no idea where you want to be, there are ways to handle this question.
Talk about any ambitions, goals or enthusiasm you have. Things to consider when responding to this question are, do you want to grow and develop in this career?
Will this career help you widen your skills and expertise? What areas in your life or career will this job help you with? Is there any specific opportunities the company offers that you hope to take on?
Example answers could be:
“In the future I see myself being in a leadership role.”
“I see myself taking on more challenging projects.”
“I envision building my skills and experience in the field and taking part in personal and professional development to continually grow.”
Why do you want to work here?
Show the company your interest in working for them and that you’ve done some homework. Talk about key aspects of the company that attracted you. These can be aspects like how the company’s mission resonates you, their values matching with yours, that you thrive working in a team environment, and so on. You can also express any excitement you have if the company is sustainable or innovative.
