Have you got a design idea to shout about?

Fancy yourself an up-and-coming visionary? Maybe you should enter the Hills Young Australian Design Awards, where you could win up to $10,000 for your brilliant innovation.

Now in its second year, the Hills Young Australian Design Awards is a national design prize for young designers, engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs. Entrants to the Awards have the opportunity to gain significant industry recognition and can win huge cash prizes in the following categories:

• Hills Young Australian Designer of the Year Award - $10,000
• Hills Design Innovation Award - $5,000
• Hills Design Technology Award - $5,000
• Hills Design Sustainability Award - $5,000

Last year’s champ, South Australia’s Max Hughes, won $10,000 for devising a gaming controller for children with Cerebral Palsy.

Who can enter?

If you’re 25 and under and live in Australia, you can! If you’re studying in Australia from overseas, you can too! 14 years old and got a great idea? Yes, even you!

How much does it cost to enter?

Nothing. Entry into the Awards is totally free.

What do I need to enter?

Not too much! You’ll need:

• An idea
• A description of your idea and its features
• Some pictures of your idea
• A prototype of your idea (not compulsory)

Considering you could win $10,000 for just providing the above, that’s not too difficult, right?
