Hillary Clinton Braved “Between Two Ferns” With Zach Galifianakis To Be Described As A "Librarian From Outer Space"

“I really regret doing this.”

A rite of passage during any election season is courting the ‘yoof’ vote.

For Republican presidential contender Donald Trump, that involved sharing a chilling family portrait in a failed effort to appeal to millennials.

It appealed to millennials alright.

Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton has taken a different route, following in the footsteps of President Barack Obama and appearing on Zach Galifianakis’ demented talk show Between Two Ferns.

In the clip, he asks her about losing Scott Baio’s support and compares her pantsuits to those of a “librarian from outer space”. (Donald Trump’s fashion choices also get a nod; when Clinton guesses he’ll wear “that red power tie” to the upcoming debate, Galifianakis offers a “white power” alternative.)

Clinton is pretty game and unflinching in the face of the barbs being hurled at her (though, in fairness, she’s faced far worse); she also offers just the right amount of side-eye (which will no doubt be put to good use at that aforementioned debate next week).

BTF creator and director Scott Aukerman told Vulture that appearing in the clip was actually her idea. Who knew Hil was a fan of alt-comedy? Hey, it’s better than being a fan of the alt-right.
