Here's How You Can Recreate the Night's Watch Costume With IKEA Rugs This Halloween

Last week, it was revealed that the iconic Night's Watch's coats on Game of Thrones are actually just IKEA rugs.

Now, Swedish homeware lords, IKEA, have released a simple yet effective how-to to ensure that you can faithfully recreate the authentic costume.

First, you'll need to pick up a rug and some scissors. The SKOLD sheepskin rug is pretty much the exact one they use in the show and looks majestic as all seven hells. For a more cost-friendly option, the TEJN and FÅRDRUP rugs would probably work too.

Then, you just follow the simple steps below.

If you want to take some advice from the show's costume designer, Michele Clapton, you'll need to do a few extra things to give it that Winterfell pizzazz.

"We cut and then we shaved them and then we added strong leather straps," Clapton confessed. "I want the audience to almost smell the costumes. Here they were waxed and frosted so they almost belong to the landscape."
