Happy 25th Birthday, Microsoft Solitaire

If one is the loneliest number, how come Solitaire has remained a popular staple of Microsoft operating systems for so long?

The answer, of course, is that everyone loves to procrastinate, and there’s perhaps no better way to blow off work than with a quick, frustrating round of Solitaire.

Turns out, Microsoft Solitaire just turned 25, dating back to its debut on Windows in 1990.

In honour of its quarter-century anniversary, Microsoft is hosting an internal Solitaire competition before opening up a tournament to the rest of the world in June.

If you have ever seen the above image before, then you must acknowledge your secret Solitaire skills and solemn duty to win this championship for Australia.

Now, when you play, it really will be work.
