Get Ready ‘Cos Nintendo Just Unveiled 21 New Indie Games for the Nintendo Switch

RIP my bank account.

It’s indie games galore at Nintendo this autumn as the latest Indie World showcase revealed 21 games from independent developers will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Read on with caution ‘cos you’re guaranteed to be opening your wallet with this selection of games on offer.

Every so often, Indie Games will showcase the latest titles coming to the Nintendo Switch and April’s announcement has some killer games on offer.

Top billings in the video presentation went to Road 96, a story-driven game that changes depending on the choices the player makes; OlliOlli World, a sick skateboarding game for our inner scooter rat; and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, a combat side-scroller that goes back to the series’ roots of 8-bit graphics.

It only gets better for gamers because starting from today, the Nintendo eShop are offering discounts on select indie games for the Switch right up until 25 April.

We’ve gone through the list and picked out some of our favourites for you.

Road 96

From developers DigixArt, Road 96 is a story-focussed game that mixes adventure, puzzles and exploration. The game has many roads to travel down and the characters you meet will change the story into your own. It's a great immersive experience, expected to be out later this year.

KeyWe

This game is here for the cute factor. In KeyWe you play as Jeff and Debra, two small kiwi birds who work in the Bungalow Basin Telepost Office. You must work together to peck, flap, jump and butt-slam your way to getting mail delivered on time. It's available in August 2021.

OXENFREE II: Lost Signals

This is a supernatural game about a researcher who comes across some ghostly spectres. Set five years after the first game, main character Riley is back to investigate some unusual radio signals causing disturbances in her hometown. This one's coming later this year.

art of rally

Head back to the golden era of rally with this top-down rally sim. There are 72 stages to complete across a range of different countries behind the wheel of rally cars from the '60s, '70s and '80s. Definitely one for the petrol heads out there. It's hitting shelves later this year.

OlliOlli World

Skateboarding meets action and adventure in OlliOlli World. Players can shred on their board throughout Radland as they search to find the mystical skateboarding gods. It’s like Tony Hawk Pro Skater got lost in a Year 1 paint class. We love it and so will you. This one's coming in winter this year.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

Nothing like a familiar name to draw us in, right? This side-scrolling brawler game is all about smashing your way through Foot Clan goons to reach their leader, Shredder. Players get to switch between each Ninja Turtle, each equipped with their own special moves. It’s game design straight from the '80s. You can buy this one later this year.
