"Fortnite" Fans Are Peeved Because PS4 Players Have to Start Over on Nintendo Switch

If you've played Fortnite on your PS4, forget about transferring that account to Nintendo Switch.

Just the other day, it was announced that everyone's favourite online game of the month(s), Fortnite, would finally be heading to Nintendo Switch.

In the first 24 hours of it being released, Fortnite was downloaded by two million users, so it's safe to say that the move was a success.

But, for some users who had been playing the game on PlayStation, they soon realised they were unable to log into the accounts they had been using all this time. PlayStation had locked out its data due to its anti-crossover policy.

Sony told the BBC they were open to hearing what the PlayStation community had to say about it.

"With... more than 80 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network, we've built a huge community of gamers who can play together on Fortnite and all online title," the spokesperson said.

"We also offer Fortnite cross-play support with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices, expanding the opportunity for Fortnite fans on PS4 to play with even more gamers on other platforms.

"We have nothing further to add beyond this at this point."

But their unwillingness to address the actual issue was enough to ignite angry fans on Twitter.

We'll have to wait and see if they change their mind but, given their comments, I wouldn't hold your breath over it.
