Forget The Dress: Japan Has Found Another Colour-Confusing Image

Because of course they did.

Rocket News has pointed us towards Japanese website Agohige Kaizokudan, which has another optical illusion to remind us of the ways in which our eyes betray us.

Take a look at the above and consider the differences in colour between block A and block B.

All seems to be in order, until you hold your finger over the space between the blocks marked by the horizon.

Suddenly, they’re exactly the same.

Now, this trick isn’t quite like that of the infamous gold and white (or, to those weirdoes who saw it wrong, black and blue) dress.

Our perception of colour isn’t on trial here. Rather, A and B actually are the same colour; it’s just that our eyes are being immediately drawn to their lighter and darker edges – exacerbated by the 3-D perspective – and making a colour conclusion too soon.

Anyway, feel free to leave that last part out when showing it to your enemies, as a means of driving them insane.
