Flume Just Released His First Album Single in Six Years and We’re Living

The king of trippy music videos is back.

While he’s been making a name for himself as an Instagram meme-lord over the past couple of years, it turns out Flume (aka Harley) has been cooking up some new tunes on the DL.

He’s announced a new record called Palaces to be released on 20 May, and we’re ready to soak up the glitchy, sun-drenched electronic vibes we’ve come to expect from the Australian artist.

And what’s an album announcement without a lead single to get us even more hype? Check out the music video for “Say Nothing” featuring rising Sydney singer, MAY-A (she’s super cool FYI).

He’s been surrounding himself with wildlife ever since, even incorporating field recordings of birds into his music. We’re getting literal birdsong on this album.

Regarding the new single, he told Pedestrian “we wrote the song midway through 2020 while the pandemic was still pretty new. I was really excited about the initial idea but it was only once I got back to Australia in early 2021 and linked up in the studio with MAY-A that the song really came to life.”

We can already see this taking out at least 20 spots in next year’s Hottest 100.
