Fave Online Fashion Brand, Missguided, on the Brink of Collapse

"This site can't be reached."

One of the most popular go-to sites for quick and cute ‘fits has been slapped with a “no access” error page, after going into debt.

The once uber-successful fashion brand has 9.2 million followers on Instagram, boasted the endorsement of celebrities and influencers like Sofia Richie, and gained huge prominence in Australia with big names like The Iconic and Myer selling its pieces.

But a string of confusing customer experiences has escalated into collapse for the company.

The first signs started when customers were not receiving their orders, despite having been promised next-day delivery.

It was then reported that police were called to the Missguided head office in Manchester after angry suppliers were not being paid.

The Guardian reported one Leicester-based factory owner was owed over AUD $3.5 million by the fashion brand. As a result of not being paid, they could not pay their 90+ workers and were forced to send them home.

Another factory owner told The I that they had to sell their mum and wife’s wedding jewellery to raise AUD $70,000 to cover their staff’s wages.

It was reported that rival fast-fashion outlet Boohoo was in talks to buy Missguided in a “rescue deal”, but after this fell through, the latter company has now been taken into the hands of administrators.

This means control of the company is handed over to a licensed third party who will try to repay money owed as quickly as possible.

The website is now unable to be accessed—so you'll have to scour elsewhere on the internet to find your next party dress.
