What You Need to Know About Upcoming Film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”

“We will face this together. We will fight it together... as a family.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the upcoming franchise reboot to the OG Fantastic Four movies.

After two film adaptations in 2005 and 2015 that weren’t received as well as expected (aka they flopped), Marvel’s latest efforts are bringing a massive shift to this iconic family. Casting a new generation of major stars to revive this fantastic superhero team.

See what we did there?

The Fantastic Four stars a massive lineup with Pedro Pascal (Materialists) as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (Mission Impossible: Fall Out) as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Human Touch and Ebon Moss Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm AKA the Thing.

The internet went crazy over the teaser trailer, showcasing the family in a 60s retro-futuristic type setting and a new villain supporting Galactus with Julia Garner (Inventing Anna) as Shalla-Bal.

The plot follows Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and the Thing as they face off against the planet-eater Galactus and Shalla-Bal. This movie has been confirmed by the president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, that it’s set in an alternate universe from the main MCU within the multiverse.

Check out their debut in Sydney.

Plus, their recent premiere in Australia had their Sydney fans hyped while they were all serving looks on the blue carpet.

And of course, people were going crazy over Pedro Pascal.

Plus recent news of a scene being cut?

There’s also been news that one of the scenes featuring a character named Ivan Kragoff, aka the Red Ghost has been cut from the film. Die-hard Marvel fans have expressed their opinions online.

The scenes were decidedly cut in the end due to keeping the delicate balance between reintroducing these iconic characters and giving them the backstory they deserve. Ultimately and sadly, Red Ghost’s scenes just weren’t working with the story.

Either way, we’re keen to see this new rendition of The Fantastic Four when it comes out.

The Fantastic Four: The First Steps is out in Aussie cinemas 24 July, so mark your calendars and get some cheap movie tickets while you’re at it.
