Pssst We’ve Got Everything You Need to Know to Nail Your Early Offer Application

Put your best foot forward.
This post is presented in partnership with RMIT University.
It's early offer szn and you know what that means? Time to dust off the application-writing cobwebs and get down to business.
You wanna give yourself the best shot at getting into uni, and that all starts with selling yourself in your early offer application.
What’s an early offer, you ask? It’s a little program at RMIT University that allows you to secure a conditional offer at uni with a guaranteed ATAR that takes some of the pressure off your final exams.

Applying is easy and nowhere near as stressful as anxiously waiting to receive your exam results, hoping you'll get accepted into your preferred course.
But, to give your application the edge, we've got a few nuggets of golden advice. You're welcome.

You'll need to include a 200-word statement for TWO of the below categories. Did you catch that? Not one, TWO!
Once you've chosen which two of the below categories you're going to write to, there's four criteria you'll need to respond to for each category (which you can see here and we've also included below).
You've got 200 words to summarise your skills and experience to address all the criteria points you have strong, relevant examples for. You don't have to fill out answers for all four points, but obviously, the more you do, the better your application will look!

You should use the opportunity to outline a specific example of where you demonstrated the criteria and what the outcome was with evidence to support your response. For example, instead of saying you’re the captain of a sports team, explain a time you diffused conflict in your team or helped a new team mate.
You could include a reference letter, completion certificate or a link to something you created—any kind of evidence that shows how you meet that criteria summed up in 200 words.
Let's dive a little deeper:
Creative Thinking and Innovation
Got a knack for thinking outside the box? Pick this section to show off your imaginative and creative flair, discuss your love for learning, or explain your entrepreneurial expertise. The four criteria points to address here are creativity, design thinking, innovative thinking and entrepreneurial.

Leadership
Have you coached a team, planned an event or just consider yourself a bit of a natural-born leader? Then you're amazing. And you should also put your leadership experience in this section of your Early Offer program application. The four criteria points to address here are coaching, project management, delegating with respect and managing conflict.

Communication
Got a list of times when you've motivated and worked well with others? How 'bout scenarios when you've delegated tasks, adapted as a team member, led negotiations or shown attention to detail? If you thrive in a team, this is your time to brag about it. The four criteria points to address here are demonstration, relationship building, negotiating and listening.

Analytical and Critical Thinking
Hello problem solver! If you consider yourself able to identify strengths and weaknesses, analyse information, find solutions and apply analytical reasoning to solve problems, this is your chance to shine. The four criteria points to address here are problem solving, analytical reasoning, critical thinking and analysing information.

Again, you've gotta include a 200-word statement for TWO of the categories just mentioned addressing their individual criteria points. And applications close 18 September, so be sure to hustle and get yours in soon.
