Emma Stone And Ryan Gosling Made A Musical Called “La La Land” And Look, A Trailer!

After the Oscar-winning Whiplash, director Damien Chazelle could basically make whatever the hell he wanted next.

And what he wanted to make, apparently, was an old school musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

(Many of us enjoyed their pairing in Crazy, Stupid, Love, but lacked the professional reputation to mount a musical starring the two of them, so thanks Damien.)

The trailer for their collaboration, La La Land, debuted earlier today, and though it doesn’t give away much of the plot, it sure looks pretty.

In it, Gosling plays a jazz pianist who falls for Stone’s aspiring actress. It also stars J.K. Simmons (of Whiplash and being ripped fame) and John Legend.

The flick debuts at the Venice Film Festival late August, but won’t officially hit cinemas until December.

So, you’ll just have to watch the trailer on a constant loop until then.
