Get Ready, East Coast: You’re About to Get a Month's Worth of Rain Over a Couple of Days

The East Coast is about to get hammered with a month’s worth of rain over just a few days.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), the stretch of Australia ranging from Queensland to Tasmania will see an unusual amount of rainfall for May, with Flood Watches issued for Queensland’s coastal catchments.
ABC News says the parts of Queensland that were recently beset by Cyclone Debbie are likely to be hit hardest, and can except up to 200mm of rainfall between now and Friday evening.
"While there is the potential for riverine and flash flooding, rainfall totals and flood levels associated with this system will be generally lower than those seen with the passage of ex-tropical cyclone Debbie,” the BOM added.
The BOM also reckons it’ll need to issue a Flood Watch for all northern Tasmanian river basins soon too.

Inland New South Wales should also prepare for the rains, while the western part of Victoria is looking like it’ll receive between 30 to 50mm of falls.
Be sure to pull out your flood pants.
