Dua Lipa Will Headline Sydney's Mardi Gras 2020 Party

She'll also perform at this month's ARIA Awards.
The 2020 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras is just around the corner, and with the iconic parade taking place on 29 February, people have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Mardi Gras Party lineup.
Now we know it's going to be one hell of a party, because pop Queen Dua Lipa is set to headline. Other artists confirmed to perform include Conchita Wurst and Trevor Ashley.
Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras announced the news late last week, posting a video of Dua Lipa sharing her excitement.
Dua Lipa follows in the footsteps of Kylie Minogue, Cyndi Lauper, Olivia Newton-John and Cher, who have all previously headlined the massive event.
It's been a good week for the singer, with her new single "Don't Start Now" sitting in the top spot on the Official Irish Singles Chart. At the moment, it's also #2 on the UK Official Charts, so it might even dethrone Tones and I's "Dance Monkey". The tune also debuted in the top 10 on the ARIA Singles Chart, so she's absolutely crushing it.

However, this won't be Lipa's only trip down under in the near future. The English singer is also set to play at the ARIA Awards later this month, bringing her powerhouse vocals to Sydney's The Star Event Centre.
With festivities running throughout February, the theme for Mardi Gras 2020 is "What Matters". Mardi Gras Arts Interim Chief Executive, Grant Lowe said at the program launch, "As the world continues to rapidly change around us, we must remember, we all have a voice."
"What matters is that our Mardi Gras festival continues to play an extremely important role in enhancing the visibility, equality and security of all our communities."
Tickets for the Mardi Gras Party are on sale now.
