We Asked a Fan: ‘One Dance’ With Drake Just Wasn’t Enough

Drake fans will be in their feelings for this concert
After the announcement of the the Anita Max Win Tour in November last year, it’s official, Drizzy Drake is in Australia for the first time in eight years.
And obviously Drake fans are ecstatic as the rapper announced a total of 15 shows across Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland, New Zealand.
His first show kicked off last night in Perth, WA and we asked one lucky, self-professed super fan Jonathan F. from Perth about the experience.
Jonathan, whose top artist on Spotify Wrapped since its inception has been Drake, said he would “100 per cent” pay to do it all again.
Just hold on, nobody wanted to go home because the vibes were IT.

Drake entered the RAC arena wearing a dark grey hoodie, leaving a trail of fake smoke behind him.
Jonathan had high expectations going into the Anita Max Win Tour being such a big fan and, thankfully for him, those expectations were met.
“One of the key things, I think, that was probably the standout of the show was that he actually interacted with the audience really well,” he said.
“He had a ring [shaped-stage] going around the entire stadium where he would keep going around so people on one side weren’t neglected.
“He made sure he got through to everyone and he made his way through to the stands at certain parts as well.”
The standout moment from the show.

Although it was hard to pick one standout, Jonathan said the vibe of the crowd was electric. Partly because Drake made sure not to neglect any part of the audience.
However, the moment he remembers was something the Canadian artist has never done before.
“He came to the floor where the crowd was with his bodyguards and actually performed one of his popular songs God’s Plan on the floor of GA with the crowd around him,” Jonathan told Student Edge.
“And I thought that was pretty spectacular.
“He admitted he never tried that before. He also admitted after that he would never do that again, given how crazy the audience was.”
Which tracks were ‘too good’?

No setlist spoilers here, (although you can head here to see it) but if you’re looking to hear a diverse range of Drake’s songs, he does deliver some of his more nostalgic tracks.
However, because he has so many songs on his discography, he doesn’t perform every single one of his most popular songs.
Jonathan said the order of songs performed contributed to the high energy vibes from the crowd.
“It started off smooth with his R and B tracks getting the flow in,” he said.
“And then there was probably a 30 to 45 minute period where he was playing non-stop hits and it was like high energy…he definitely lifted the mood.”

If you’re heading to see one of Drake’s shows we suggest you laugh now, because you’ll be crying later when it’s over.
