Dove Released Another Racist Campaign Turning a Black Woman White

Someone has some serious explaining to do.
Dove posted an image on Facebook as part of a new product promotion and it has backfired spectacularly.
The image in question featured six frames: two of a black woman taking her shirt off, revealing two frames of a white woman, underneath. The white woman later peels off her shirt to reveal a Latinx woman.
have you even seen the full ad? pic.twitter.com/Ah6aY8nunE

Soap advertising campaigns have a history of being incredibly racist, which is why some pointed out that in 2017, this should be non-existent.
I cannot conceive of how anyone at Dove thought this ad was acceptable. This is literally how Victorian soap was advertised by Unilever... pic.twitter.com/m9HH7BVXts

Dove has since apologised for the campaign, admitting that it "missed the mark".
But some pointed out this wasn't the first time Dove has "missed the mark" with an offensive and racist advertising campaign.
Others were confused how anyone could approve this to go live.
ppl asking "don't you have POC in your marketing team?"

If you view the full advertisement, the white woman pulls off her shirt to become a hispanic woman. If someone is so upset about the first transition, shouldn't they be equally upset about the second transition. This advertisement has been blown completely out of the water with sensationalised news stories and people being oversensitive.
