Doughnut Fries: Yeah or Nah?

Is it about time we leave doughnuts alone and just let them be, well, doughnuts?

First we were graced with cronuts, the delicious love child hybrid of a croissant and a doughnut. Now, some genius food artisans have come up with doughnut fries.

The good people at The Doughnut Bar in Brisbane have come up with the devilishly delish food creation. They slice up brioche doughnut dough into long, thin strips (obviously so they resemble the humble potato fry) before deep frying them to perfection. Oh, then they’re rolled in sugar.

These guys are the ultimate doughnut craftspeople. Just look at some of the things they’ve conjured up. It’s wild.

Who wants boring ol’ waffle cones, when you can have glazed doughnut cones? (Albeit, surely they’d make your hands inconveniently sticky… Minus one point for practicality.)
