Donald Trump Reckons He Lost The Popular-Vote To Clinton Because Millions Of People Voted For Her Illegally

In his newest Twitter rampage, Donald Trump claims he would have won the popular-vote, if hadn’t been for the “millions of people who voted illegally”.

President-elect Donald Trump has blamed voter fraud in an attempt to explain why he lost the popular-vote to democratic party rival, Hillary Clinton. He won the presidential election via the Electoral College, but is clearly still adamant that the voting system was rigged. Clinton won the popular vote by at least 2.2 million votes.

His accusations come in light of calls to recount election votes in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania – the three swing states whose electoral votes delivered his presidency. Green Party candidate Jill Stein launched a fundraiser to crowdsource money for a recount; in less than 24 hours, she raised more than $2.2 million.

Trump hasn’t elaborated on what he meant be “people who voted illegally”, though previously he has complained about voter identity fraud among communities which lean towards the Democratic party. However, as the Guardian reports, these claims were regularly debunked by experts, and Trump himself never provided any actual evidence to prove his point.

According to New York Magazine, there is no evidence to suggest of large-scale voter fraud in the United States. In fact, there’s no evidence of virtually any voter fraud (at all) in the 2016 election, apart from right-wing conspiracy theory publications who allege three million undocumented migrants voted illegally.
