"Divergent" Actress Shailene Woodley Talks About Her Arrest On Social Media

Shailene Woodley, the lead actress in the Divergent series, has finally spoken out about her arrest.

The 24-year-old Hollywood star was arrested during a peaceful protest in North Dakota. Woodley trespassed onto private property in order to boycott the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline.

The proposed pipeline is understood to be both harmful to the environment and also damaging to Native American tribal lands.

She captured a video on Facebook Live to document the protest and arrest.

Woodley was charged with criminal trespassing and engaging in a riot.

The following poem was posted to her Instagram after her release.

one day, baby, we'll sing our poetry. the words dripping from our tongues wet with ripened patience. and the lyrics, the sweet fruits born from the seeds our aging hands are now sowing. #alwaysinallways #heartforward #uptous #NoDAPL #protectcleanwater #iamonyourside

Rather than fighting fire with fire, looks like Woodley is fighting power with poetics. That's pretty rad.
