The Biggest Disney Announcements from D23

Reveals from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and more 🎬
If you're a Disney fan, D23 is basically Christmas, Comic-Con and a theme park holiday rolled into one. Disney's biggest fan event returned to Anaheim from 14 to 16 August, bringing with it a stacked lineup of announcements from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Disney Animation and more. From long-awaited sequels to brand-new projects, there was no shortage of reveals to get excited about.
Marvel's next big chapter.
Marvel came to D23 with plenty of surprises, including a first look at VisionQuest, a new Disney+ series that continues the story started in WandaVision and expanded in Agatha All Along.
Gamers also got something to celebrate, with a new trailer for Marvel's Wolverine confirming that the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 title is set to release on 15 September 2026.
One of the biggest reactions of the night, however, was reserved for Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was joined on stage by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell to unveil a special look at the film, which promises to bring together heroes from multiple universes in what sounds like one of the MCU's most ambitious stories yet.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to arrive in Australian cinemas in December 2026.

And just when it seemed Marvel had run out of announcements, the studio revealed more details about its upcoming X-Men film. Sadie Sink, who recently joined the MCU as Jean Grey, was joined by Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, Samara Weaving, Inde Navarrette, Maya Boyd and Adam Driver, giving fans their first major look at the next generation of mutants heading to cinemas in 2028.
Star Wars is far from finished.
A galaxy far, far away also had its moment in the spotlight.
The first teaser trailer for Ahsoka Season 2 made its debut, confirmed to return to Disney+ in 2027. Fans also got an update on Star Wars: Starfighter, an all-new theatrical adventure directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling.
While details remain under wraps, Starfighter looks set to introduce new characters and stories to the Star Wars franchise.
Pixar is bringing sequels and fresh stories.
If you've been asking Pixar for sequels, your wish has definitely been granted.
The studio kicked off its presentation with a first look at Incredibles 3, which will bring everyone's favourite superhero family back to the big screen in June 2028.
Meanwhile, Coco 2 is officially moving forward, with new concept art showing Miguel as a teenager. Pixar also confirmed that villain Ernesto de la Cruz will return, sending Miguel back to the Land of the Dead for another adventure.
But it wasn't all sequels. Pixar announced Ghost Market, a brand-new original film set in Hawaii that follows a young boy who accidentally discovers a hidden world where lost spirits gather.
The studio also shared another look at Gatto, an upcoming adventure set in Venice, starring a black cat named Nero who finds himself caught between destiny and the city's feline underworld.
Disney's nostalgia machine keeps rolling.
A sequel to the live-action Lilo & Stitch is officially heading into production, while in Frozen 3, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf return for their next adventure.
Disney also unveiled new details about its live-action adaptation of Tangled, with Kathryn Hahn appearing on stage to discuss the project and share a message from the film's stars Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim.
Elsewhere, fans got updates on Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3, Camp Rock 3, and the next Ice Age film, Ice Age: Boiling Point.
One of the more unexpected reveals was Oswald, a new Disney+ series based on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, one of Walt Disney's earliest characters. The show will bring the classic cartoon icon into the modern world through a mix of live action and animation.
To cap things off, Disney Animation confirmed that Zootopia 3 is officially in early development, proving that Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde aren't done solving mysteries just yet.
The real takeaway from D23.
If there was one clear message from D23, it's that Disney is betting big on the stories people already love. Whether it's Marvel superheroes, Star Wars adventures, Pixar favourites or animated classics, the company is doubling down on its biggest franchises while still making room for a few new original ideas.
For fans, that means the next few years are looking pretty packed. And if this year's D23 showcase is anything to go by, Disney isn't slowing down anytime soon.
