They’re Trying To Hide Christina Aguilera’s Duet With Whitney Houston’s Hologram, But The Internet Refuses To Comply

The resurrection of late musical legends in the form of holograms is one of the weirdest trends of the 21st century.
Nonetheless, the proposal for Whitney Houston’s hologram – who was set to headline her own tour in 2016 – is perhaps the strangest of them all.
The Whitney hologram was set to make her debut on The Voice: America’s season 10 finale later this month, alongside Christina Aguilera.
Though the duet was filmed, the Whitney Houston Estate has come forward to cancel its airing.
In a statement to ET Online, executor of the estate (and Whitney’s sister-in-law) Pat Houston explained that the hologram wasn't yet "perfect".
“We are so appreciative of the opportunity for the Whitney Houston hologram to appear on NBC’s The Voice with a talent pairing as extraordinary as Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston... After closely viewing the performance, we decided the hologram was not ready to air.”
To that, the internet said, “we decide what’s ready to air around here.”
Footage of the bizarre duet has been leaked online, and you can watch it below. Creepy? Moving? Haunting, but in a good way? Haunting, in the regular way?
All we know is that the lyrics to “I’m Every Woman” (specifically, “anytime you feel danger or fear, then instantly I will appear”) have taken on chilling new meaning.
(If the footage is already gone by the time you're reading this, take solace in the fact that nothing really disappears from the internet. Some quick Googling should sort you out.)
