Chris Brown's Australian Tour Has Been Cancelled

Bye bye, Breezy.

It’s official: Chris Brown’s upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour has been cancelled.

Back in September, the Government issued a Notice of Intention to Consider Refusal of Brown’s visa, on account of his criminal convictions from 2009 (following the assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna).

Brown had a month to provide evidence as to why he should be let into the country, arguing on Twitter that he would be “more than grateful to come to Australia to raise awareness about domestic violence.”

It was all to no avail.

Though his first Australian gig was just over a week away, tour promoters today released a statement alerting ticket-holders that Brown’s shows in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane had all been canned.

“Mr Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future,” it reads.

Brown is scheduled to appear on The Daily Show this week to discuss domestic violence.
