Chris Brown Arrested For Allegedly Pulling Gun On Female Houseguest

Chris Brown has been arrested by Los Angeles police on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

His arrest comes after a daylong standoff with the LAPD, during which time Brown took to Instagram to assert his innocence. (He also plugged his new song.)

According to the L.A. Times, police were called to address an incident involving Baylee Curran, who says she had been invited to Brown’s house to discuss "future projects".

Curran told police that Brown pointed a gun at her in a rage after she was seen to be admiring a diamond necklace being showcased by someone else in the house.

“I don’t know if it was Chris’ friend or how he was related, but that’s when he told me to back away from the diamond necklace and started cussing me out and calling me names,” she said.

“That’s when Chris pulled his gun and told me to ‘Get out.’ He said ‘I’m sick of you girls, get the F out!’”

Curran attempted to exit and asked for her phone back from Brown's associates (it was confiscated upon entry), but first they tried to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement. She declined and ran away, after which she was reportedly chased. Curran said she hid under an SUV on a neighbour’s property. It was the neighbour who called police.

While police sought a warrant to search Brown’s home, the singer posted a message on Instagram saying, “you’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing, you idiots.”

Eventually, Brown was taken into custody while police scoured his property for the gun in question.

Brown, you don’t need to be told, has a history with the police. He spent six years on probation after attacking Rihanna in 2009. He admitted to violating his probation in 2014 after committing an assault in Washington. Brown nonetheless had his probation lifted in 2015.
