It’s Official: Chicken Crimpy Has Been Declared As Australia’s Fave Shapes Flavour

Controversial.

If there’s anything that Aussies can agree on, it’s that Arnott’s Shapes are a top tier snack. However, what we can’t agree on is which flavour is our number one.

Well, it looks like the debate is officially over ‘cos Arnott’s have declared Chicken Crimpy as Australia’s most popular Shapes flavour.

As a Barbeque supremacist myself, this is a travesty.

According to a very scientific survey done by the bickie brand, 22 per cent of Aussies rank the salty chicken flavoured snack at the top, closely followed by Pizza at 20.15 per cent and Barbeque at 20.06 per cent.

The Google Survey’s study was conducted online by Arnott’s between 15 September and 16 September, so voters only had a small window of time to get their fave locked in.

With gold, silver and bronze taken, the other spots were won by Cheese and Bacon at 14 per cent, Savoury at 10 per cent, and last but not least, Nacho Cheese at just nine per cent.

One per cent of Aussies even voted that none of them were any good. We do not claim them.

“Aussies certainly aren’t silent about their love for Chicken Crimpy on our socials,” an Arnott’s spokesperson told news.com.au.

“We see a lot of love for all of our flavours, but Chicken Crimpy is a firm favourite. We love to see Shapes fans debating over their favourite flavour especially when it comes to the epic rivalry between Pizza and Barbecue.”

According to the spokesperson, Chicken Crimpy is a no brainer for the top spot ‘cos it has a distinct flavour and texture “with classic flavour notes, it’s easy to snack on and melts in your mouth.”

Mm yeah okay, I’m still a Barbeque stan.

Breaking the numbers down state by state, however, tells a different story.

In Victoria, Barbeque came out on top at 24 per cent, while peeps in NSW were still on board with Chicken Crimpy.

Queensland also upheld the Chicken Crimpy trophy at 26 per cent, but ACT is big lovers of Nacho Cheese at a whopping 26 per cent.

Tasmania’s favourite was Pizza at 30.98 per cent, and it seems that Millennials and Boomers even have different preferences when it comes to shapes as over 65s favoured Cheese and Bacon, while Gen Y adores a good Pizza snack.

No matter what Arnott’s say, I’m sure the challenge for the Shapes crown will always be a controversial topic for Aussie snackers.

This isn’t over yet Chicken Crimpy.
