Cheap Eats: Pepper Lunch, NSW

Five stars for the franchise expanding across Australia.

Cheap, filling and served fresh to cook at your table.

What more could you want for a good feed?

To be found as a small shop right next to China Town in Sydney, or at another slightly bigger location along George St, as well as in VIC, WA and SA, Pepper Lunch is a new experience I've fallen in love with.

Ranging from a wide variety of beef, chicken, salmon or seafood dishes, Pepper Lunch allows you to make it your way. Personally, the classic beef pepper is the way I go, with the addition of egg and cheese.

Your choice of dish is served to you on a hot plate, allowing you to cook it the way you like, and enjoy it fully, all while still hot. However, there is obviously a downside to the hotness; I'm all too familiar with a burnt tongue if I'm not too careful on the first few bites.

With tons of sides, add ons and meals available at affordable prices (under $20) and a variety of choices, Pepper Lunch really offers a great DIY culinary experience. It is a trend catching on quick with other places, so its uniqueness is decreasing, but I find the service and quiet ambiance more pleasing than other similar places.

Though it may not be as fancy as many other places, it really offers a fun and fulfilling environment for everyone to enjoy a good feed and experience. I say it's a must try.
