Their ramen is always on point.

Menya Mappen on George St is one of a few noodle bar franchises found in the heart of Sydney's city.

It is run by Japanese owners and serves up authentic ramen and rice bowls in a cafeteria style setting.

Customers line up in the usually busy and vibrant restaurant and choose their soup base (tonkotsu is the best) and the type of noodles they wish to have.

Then, they go on to pick any extra sides which may comprise of tempura fried meats, seaweed and even desserts like mochi (which is kind of like a jelly-like rice cake).

What I love about the restaurant is its generous portions, incredibly affordable prices (around $8 a ramen) and fast, effective service.

The soup is made onsite and bursting with pork bone goodness. Their ramen is always on point.

To conclude, there are many choices in the city for ramen lovers but Menya Mappen would always be a favourite of mine.
