Bunnings Will Introduce Pop-Up Vaccination Hubs This Weekend So You Can Get a Snag and a Jab.

Bunnings sausage sizzle and vaccines, together at last.

It’s great news for sausage sizzle and hardware fans in Queensland ‘cos starting this weekend Bunnings are rolling out pop-up vaccine clinics in over 30 stores across the state.

Nothing makes the pain of a jab go away quicker than a Bunnings snagger in my opinion.

Earlier today, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the new jab and snag initiative (that’s not what it’s called, but it should be), letting Queenslanders know that they can get their COVID-19 vaccine along with their sausage starting this Saturday.

Bunnings had been involved with the state government and Queensland Health for some months already regarding vaccination hubs, with Bunnings Managing Director Mike Schneider saying they were stoked to get the plan over the line.

“We hope it makes accessing vaccinations as easy and convenient as picking up an item for a weekend DIY project,” Schneider said.

Hey, I see what they’ve done now. Sneaky.

“We’ve always tried to play an active role in supporting the local communities where we operate,” Schneider continued, “so providing space to QLD Health to accelerate the vaccination rollout just makes sense."

For those in Queensland wondering where they can get the sausage sizzle and a jab, participating stores include Brisbane suburbs of Browns Plain, Morayfield, Brendale, Bethania, Mt Gravatt, North Lakes, Stafford and Maryborough.

Anyone in regional Queensland can get their jab and snagger in Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Dalby, Smithfield in Cairns, Fairfield Waters in Toowoomba, Townsville, Townsville North, Mackay North, Paget in Mackay, Airlie Beach and Kingaroy.

Other stores include Gladstone, Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Gympie.

The move by Bunnings comes as figures from Deloitte revealed that Queensland has the highest amount of people in Australia unwilling to get vaccinated.

With vaccinations being key to getting the country out of the pandemic, it’s no surprise that Bunnings began the rollout in Queensland.

All they need to do now is make this a country-wide initiative and Australia will be fully-vaxxed in no time.

If you’re not yet vaccinated but want to, check out the government’s resources on COVID-19 vaccines, chat with your GP, and book an appointment at your local vaccination clinic.

If you’re not sure about your eligibility just yet, you can find out and book in at a clinic here.
