Bob Katter Just Released An Ad In Which He Apparently Shoots Two Men Dead

Federal MP Bob Katter felt that the time was just right to release a new political ad in which he appears to shoot two men dead.

In the ad, two men representing Labor and the Coalition put up a sign saying “Australia For Sale”.

After precisely one failed attempt to remove the sign, Katter is seen holding a literal smoking gun. The camera then cranes up – rather majestically, we'll admit – to reveal the two men lying dead.

Needless to say, the denizens of the internet – still reeling from the worst mass shooting in American history, like the rest of the feeling world – haven’t taken to it all that well.

And those are just the Tweets we can reprint.

When asked for comment by ABC News (presumably like this: "Why? Just... why?"), Katter said, “I’m not giving an explanation.”

"It was just for humour value. But it was humour getting a message across," he said.

He claims he signed off on the video two weeks ago and had “no idea when the thing went out.”

The publication date on YouTube says June 14. The shooting at Pulse nightclub that claimed 49 lives took place June 11.

And so the eight-week election campaign stretches on.
