Bernard Tomic Is First to Exit “I’m a Celebrity” and We Don’t Blame Him

If you tipped Bernard Tomic as first to exit I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here… you might just get it right.

It has taken just two days for the Australian tennis player to say, “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here.” He did so while suspended atop a cliff wearing goggles that made everything appear upside down. So, fair enough, really.

Though fellow contestant Anthony Mundine initially tapped Tomic for the “Bridge Too Far” challenge, he also told Tomic, “We would love you to stay.” Jackie Gillies helped talk Tomic into sleeping on his decision.

The show is now teasing a big reveal on tonight’s broadcast, but if Tomic indeed abandons the jungle, he won’t exactly be doing much for his reputation as a 'tanker', which he specifically joined the show to dispel.

But maybe we should be a little more sympathetic.

“I just wasn’t expecting all of this, you know,” he confided on the program.

“I am just not coping well. This is not the real world. This is the jungle. This is so different. Not what I expected. I don’t think I can do it. I think it is best if I go.”

That said, the I’m a Celebrity Twitter account has sympathy for no man, still encouraging punters to vote for the celeb they want to see tormented on television. First on their list? #CelebBernard

Get outta there, Bernie!

Update: It happened.
