In the seventh episode of Season Seven, we chat with former child soldier and refugee lawyer Deng Adut. He told us what it was like to be taken from his family as a child in South Sudan, the difficulties and discrimination he faced after he fled to Australia, and how our education system helped guide him "through the jungle".
"Because Australia's a different jungle. And learning English, I think English is a hard, very hard language... A language that is evolving on a daily basis, and you want to catch up with it, and you just came yesterday."
