Aussie Politician Literally Chokes on His Food and Knocks Himself Out From Laughing Too Hard at “Veep”

An Australian Federal MP has shocked the world with his near-death television experience.

The Queensland Labor pollie, Graham Perrett, was watching an episode of the U.S. TV show Veep when he found a scene so LOL-worthy that he choked on his rice; while running to the kitchen, he hit himself on a bench, fell to the ground and became unconscious.

This resulted in some pretty bad injuries. He received three stitches in his cheek, a black eye and an injured nose.

Perrett told the ABC that "[his] wife is still laughing, every time she looks at me she's like, you're ridiculous."

Buzzfeed’s political editor Mark DiStefano tweeted the story and actors from the show, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, responded.

The scene that caused the kerfuffle was allegedly an exchange between two characters, Jonah and Dan, where Jonah is accused of faking cancer after Dan walks in on him shaving his head before an interview.
