An Aussie Company Is Looking for 2,000 People to Join a Real-Life "Squid Game"

Massive prize money is up for grabs (and no dying).

They say life imitates art and that could not be any truer ‘cos an Australian company has revealed they will be hosting a real-life Squid Game-style tournament.

This news comes as the frenzy surrounding Squid Game hits a fever pitch with education departments around the country informing schools that violent imitation games will be banned.

Called ‘Squiz Gamez’ (don’t ask us why), the competition will take place next year across Aussie capital cities and up to 2,000 people will be chosen to play, with the last person standing winning a “life-changing cash prize”.

According to the event page, the money at stake is “a sh*t load of cash”. Since that’s not exactly a unit of financial measurement, we really can’t tell you how much money is up for grabs, but the prize does include the winner being driven home in a stretch limousine with seven of their friends.

To enter, all you need to do is purchase a ticket here. Once you’ve paid, ticketholders will be sent a game card—like the one from the show—in February and will need to call the number on the back to get the location details.

Unfortunately, even if you purchased a ticket, you might not get a card as your ticket only gives you an entry into a ballot to participate.

There will be four rounds to play, with up to 500 people participating per round with competitors taking on a series of challenges. If they lose, they are eliminated from the Squiz Gamez.

The organisers haven’t revealed what kind of games these will be but have promised that people “won’t die if you get something wrong”. Well, that’s a relief.

If you weren’t chosen to compete for the money don’t stress, because your ticket also counts as a VIP entry to watch the Squiz Gamez unfold with special audience interaction, bars, food outlets and other entertainment at the venue included.

Honestly, this sounds like it’s turning into a festival.

Tickets for the Squiz Gamez cost $92 each (ooft) with events happening in every capital city across Australia except Darwin. Sadly, you do have to be over 18 to enter, sorry.

Don't worry if you're underage or miss out on getting a ticket to the Squiz Gamez. You can always play your own version safely at home here.

Squid Games is the most-watched show in Netflix’s history and all nine episodes are available to stream today.
