Aussie Supermodel Ajak Deng Retires; Is Over "The Fakes And The Lies"

Seems a lot of Australians feel like retiring this week!

Supermodel Ajak Deng has revealed she will walk away from modelling, at the age of 26.

On Instagram, she noted that she can “no longer deal with the fakes and the lies” of the fashion industry, and will instead move back to Australia, “to live the life that I fully deserved.”

“My life is too short for this dramatic life,” she added.

Sounds like there's a hell of a story behind this, but Ajak - who has modelled for Dior, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Marc Jacobs - isn't spilling just yet.

Her manager, Stephen Bucknall, recently told the Herald Sun that Ajak, who is of Sudanese descent, was saddened by the fact there wasn’t “more work for dark skinned girls” in Australia.

It's unknown if racism is what partly inspired her to quit the industry.

In a later post, Deng thanked fans for their concerns, adding, “I am good and very happy with my decision.

“I will figured (sic) out what to do next. I love you all and thank you.”

Best of luck out there, Ajak.
