The Aunt Who Sued Her Nephew Went On TV (With The Kid) To Set The Record Straight

The internet's least favourite aunt has appeared on American morning show Today with her 12-year-old nephew to point out that their relationship hasn't been tarnished despite her $127,000 lawsuit against the child.

Yesterday, Jennifer Connell revealed the real reason behind her controversial suit: that she only filed it in the name of her cousin's son, Sean, as an insurance formality.

(At age 8, he had broken her wrist during a particularly enthusiastic hug. For her to claim homeowners insurance for medical bills, she had to name a person and not the insurance company in the suit.)

Still, that wasn't enough to convince many that Connell wasn't the "auntie-Christ" (as she's been, admittedly, creatively nicknamed).

Maybe their appearance on Today - in which Connell admitted she's "still in shock" over the "unpleasant experience" - will change the hearts and minds of the people.

Unfortunately, we can't embed the clip, but here's what Sean wants everyone to know about his aunt: "That I love her, and she loves me."

Well, don't we all feel terrible now?
