Amy Schumer's New Film "I Feel Pretty" Is Peeving Off A Lot of People

Another of Hollywood's problematic feminists is facing harsh criticism.

Amy Schumer's upcoming film, I Feel Pretty, is due out later this year but the trailer's already inviting some furrowed brows.

The film follows a (supposedly) unconventionally attractive woman, Renee, who, after becoming fed up with failing to attract attention from male suitors, bumps her head and begins to believe that she is beautiful.

Schumer went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about the film, calling it "a really funny and sweet movie".

"I think [I Feel Pretty] will make us all feel better," Schumer said. "It made me feel better to play the role."

But what is marketed as a body positivity comedy is being called tone-deaf by some feminists.

So the new Amy Schumer movie is about a woman who is half an inch from being conventionally Hollywood attractive (but rest-of-the-world attractive) who thinks she's rest-of-the-world-attractive? I have never been more confused in my life.

While the plotline does seem like it's straight out of 2001 (Shallow Hal, anyone?), not everyone saw the big deal with it.
