People Are Not Happy With Amy Schumer's Parody Of "Formation" By Beyoncé

Amy Schumer has been criticised and called a racist on social media for her parody of Beyoncé's "Formation" music video.

The video was released Friday on Tidal, and features the stand-up comedian Amy Schumer and actress Goldie Hawn recreating Queen B's "Formation" choreography.

She posted the video to Twitter as soon as it was live.

Wondering how people received the parody? All you gotta do is look up #AmySchumerGottaGoParty on Twitter.

People are riled up because they feel that Schumer has taken the song out of context. I mean, after all, the track does celebrate black womanhood? Not - entirely - sure how that would apply to her.

Schumer has responded to backlash with an explanation (sort of?) on Instagram.

It's probably noteworthy to mention that the Formation parody was released on Tidal, which Bey's husband, Jay Z, has partial ownership of. One can only assume at least one of them agreed to air the video.

Nonetheless, Schumer has previously Tweeted some pretty suspect stuff. Like, that time she implied men of colour are "statistically" more likely to "holler" at women.
